Silvi Mari Apartments

The bungalow-style house includes 4 spacious and bright holiday apartments. Each of them sleeps 4 persons and has a kitchenette and a shower bathroom.

The facility is located sideways the village street of ▶ Platanias, in peaceful countryside surroundings by the path to the beach.

Platanias is one of the villages that line the bay of ▶ Rethymnon on the island of ▶ Crete, located approx. midway between the city and the larger hotel resorts in the eastern part of the bay.

The place has many smaller hotels and private apartment facilities, and the shops and restaurants of Platanias are prepared for the demands of individual tourism.

The village of ▶ Platanias is located about midway between the Old Town of ▶ Rethymnon (5 kms) and the large hotel sites in the villages along the eastern half of the bay.

In the village (5 minutes footwalk) there are tavernas, supermarkets, car and motorbike rentals, shops, bistros, and ATM machines.

During the season, an even wider ranging supply of tourism goods and services can be found in the neighbouring village of ▶ Adelianos Campos.

The Silvi Mari Apartments are located by a side-lane in peaceful, almost rural surroundings, just 50 meters from the sandy beach.

There is an hourly public bus service to ▶ Heraklion (80 kms) and ▶ Chania (64 kms), as well as to Rethymnon (during the season every 30 minutes). The bus stop is 200 meters from the house.

Heraklion airport is 85 kms away, Chania aiport 69 kms. With respect to the winding character of the motor highway, transfer times from and to the airports must not be underestimated.

The house is framed by a small garden. There are sunbeds and umbrellas available.

At night, the drive and the entrance are lit. A small parking area is available aside the house.

Guests of Silvi Mari Apartments may also use the swimming pool and the beach facilities at a hotel in the neighbourhood.

When returning from the beach, you can use the outdoor shower in the garden aside the house.

The 4 apartments each include a living area with fully equipped kitchenette, a separate bedroom, and a shower bathroom.

The rooms are bright, spacious, and tastefully furnished. They have direct or sideward sea views.

Each apartment has a balcony with a sun umbrella and garden furniture, and sleeps up to 4 persons.

In each bedroom there are two single beds, and in each living room there are two convertible sofas. The windows have mosquito shutters.

Room cleaning as well as change of sheets and towels twice per week.

The kitchenettes are equipped with the essential pots and pans, plates and dishes, cutlery and glassware. They also have electric hobs, ovens, extractor fans and refrigerators.

The large supermarket in ▶ Platanias is open all-year and supplies all goods of everyday need. The nearest LIDL market with a rich choice of budget imported foodstuffs is just 300 meters away.

On the spot there are numerous restaurants and tavernas which however are not open all-year, such as the ▶ Taverna Kellari and the garden restaurant ▶ SkyPark, as well as the BBQ restaurant ▶ Mr. Gyros in the neighbouring village of ▶ Adelianos Campos.

The ▶ Taverna Kechagias at ▶ Stavromenos by the National Road is open all-year, and so is the SkyPark's BBQ department (except the 2 weeks around X-mas & New Year).

On the more than 15 kms long sandy beach that lines the bay of ▶ Rethymnon there are plenty of sports and watersports on offer. This includes volleyball, windsurfing, water skiing, paragliding, sailing, wetbikes, jet skiing, pedaloes and much more.

On the beach of a hotel in the neighbouring village of ▶ Adelianos Campos, the ▶ Atlantis Dive Center has its seat.

Bars, discotheques and a colourful nightlife can be found in ▶ Platanias and Adelianos Campos during the season as well, and all-year in the picturesque Venetian old town of Rethymnon.

As the house is not too far away from the nearest entrance to the New National Road, from here the whole West of the island of ▶ Crete reveals itself for exploration.
